Meet Adrian College’s inaugural student-run public relations agency: PRush Creative. Advised by Dr. Christy Mesaros-Winckles, eleven students and members of The Public Relations Student Society of America are spearheading the way into a pro bono agency for local clients in Adrian.
PRush Creative is made up of sophomores, juniors, and seniors who specialize in a variety of services like social media management, copywriting, video production, and media relations. Led by co-directors Senior Ally Shaffer and Junior Ethan Powell, the team has been working on special projects for Downtown Adrian, Rush Hall, and the Women’s and Gender Studies minor.
Senior and Account Executive Tara Tahil says this is the right experience she needs before graduating and going into the workforce: “Working in this pro bono agency is giving me hands-on experience and the opportunity to grow my client’s presence on campus and online.” Tahil and Junior Conner Wise are tag-teaming to promote the Women’s and Gender Studies minor on campus by updating their webpage with the benefits of studying the minor and featuring current student work.
Established in Spring 2021, students studying Communications can add “COMM 313: Public Relations Activities” to their schedule and join PRush Creative to advance their knowledge and skills while making a positive impact on a local business or on campus.
