ADRIAN- Country-pop music will be flooding the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center next week during the annual spring concert! Set for Friday, March 24th, the concert will be open for Adrian College students and the public.

Tickets can be reserved online at https://adriancollege.hometownticketing.com/embed/event/132 and students can get tickets for free using their student ID number.

This year, Country-pop start Mitchell Tenpenny will headline the concert, scheduled for 7 p.m. Tenpenny will perform songs from his new album, “This is the Heavy”.

Tenpenny’s new album has 20 songs and contains his recent No. 1 single “Truth About You”. Tenpenny’s album “This is Heavy” includes several songs that are influenced by Tenpenny’s rock ‘n’ roll history, as seen by the use of heavy drums and guitar. However, everything he does is based on the country music genre.

Adrian College has also booked two other country musicians as an opening act. Up-and-Coming artist Nate Smith and former After Midtown singer/songwriter Michael Rotundo will also perform. Rotundo is making a return appearance as a soloist after Midtown’s act during the 2022 spring concert. Both Smith and After Midtown opened for Tenpenny during a “Boots and Bands” summer concert in June 2021.

Smith’s singles, “Under My Skin”, “Sleeve”, “Raised Up”, and more feature a mix of gritty backwoods soul, rock ‘n’ roll swagger, and velvet-thunder vocals. His newest album titled, “Nate Smith” is set to be released in April.

WVAC is playing a selection of Tenpenny’s hits, as well as music from Smith and Rotundo. Listen to WVAC to hear a preview of what will be played at this spring concert this year!
